Story Summary
A Mother's Wish: On a winter’s day, a queen pricked her finger and wished for a daughter with skin as white as snow, hair as black as ebony, and cheeks as red as blood. Her wish came true when Snow White was born, but the queen died soon after, leaving the child in the care of her father, the king.
The Jealous Queen: The king remarried a beautiful but cruel queen who was obsessed with being the fairest in the land. When her magic mirror revealed that Snow White had surpassed her in beauty, the queen ordered a huntsman to kill the young princess. However, the huntsman spared Snow White, warning her to flee into the forest.
Refuge with the Dwarfs: Lost and alone, Snow White discovered a small cottage belonging to seven dwarfs. They took her in, and she cared for their home while they worked in the mountains. The dwarfs warned her to stay hidden from the queen, but Snow White’s kindness led her to open the door to strangers—twice—nearly costing her life.
The Poisoned Apple: Determined to eliminate Snow White, the queen disguised herself as a farmer’s wife and offered a poisoned apple. Despite her caution, Snow White took a bite and fell into a death-like sleep. The dwarfs, heartbroken, placed her in a glass coffin on a mountain, unable to bury her.
True Love’s Awakening: A prince, captivated by Snow White’s beauty, convinced the dwarfs to let him take her coffin. When it was accidentally dropped, the piece of poisoned apple dislodged, and Snow White awoke. They married, and the jealous queen, upon seeing Snow White alive, fled in rage. Snow White and the prince lived happily ever after, surrounded by their seven children.
