Sleeping Beauty

Story Summary

The Bear Family

In a cozy house in the forest lived three bears: Father Bear, Mother Bear, and Baby Bear. Father Bear was the biggest, Mother Bear was smaller, and Baby Bear was the smallest. Their home had everything in three sizes – a big chair, a medium chair, and a tiny chair for Baby Bear. The table held three bowls of porridge, and upstairs were three beds, each perfect for its owner. One morning, Mother Bear made porridge, but it was too hot to eat, so the family went for a walk in the forest to let it cool.

Goldilocks' Curiosity

A little girl named Goldilocks lived nearby and loved exploring the forest. One day, she stumbled upon the bears’ house. Curious, she peeked inside and called out, but no one answered. Ignoring good manners, she pushed the door open and entered. The house was empty, and Goldilocks felt bold. She saw three bowls of porridge on the table and couldn’t resist tasting them. Father Bear’s porridge was too hot, Mother Bear’s was too cold, but Baby Bear’s was just right – so she ate it all!

The Chairs and the Chaos

After eating, Goldilocks wanted to sit down. She tried Father Bear’s big chair, but it was too high. Mother Bear’s chair was too low. Then she sat in Baby Bear’s little chair – it was just right! But Goldilocks was bigger than Baby Bear, and the chair broke under her weight. She fell to the floor but wasn’t hurt. Feeling tired, she decided to find a place to sleep. Upstairs, she saw three beds and tested each one. Father Bear’s bed was too hard, Mother Bear’s was too soft, but Baby Bear’s bed was perfect, so she fell fast asleep.

The Bears Return

When the bears came home, they found their house in disarray. Father Bear noticed his porridge was touched, Mother Bear saw hers was sampled, and Baby Bear cried, “My porridge is all gone!” Next, they discovered their chairs. Baby Bear’s chair was broken into pieces. Upset, the bears went upstairs. Father Bear and Mother Bear found their beds disturbed, but Baby Bear gasped – a little girl was sleeping in his bed! The three bears gathered around, their growls waking Goldilocks. Terrified, she saw the angry bears and jumped out of bed.

The Escape and Aftermath

Goldilocks screamed, “I’m sorry!” and ran out of the room. She dashed down the stairs and out the door, never looking back. Baby Bear called after her, “Come play with me!” but Goldilocks didn’t stop. The bears watched her go, and Mother Bear laughed, calling her a “naughty little girl.” Father Bear made a new chair for Baby Bear, and Mother Bear cooked more porridge. Goldilocks never returned to the bears’ house, and the family lived peacefully again. The story teaches us about respecting others’ property and the consequences of curiosity without permission.
