Story Summary

Bambi's Early Days

Bambi is born in a peaceful forest, welcomed by birds and loved by his mother. His brown coat with white spots makes him adorable. As he grows, he explores the forest, smelling flowers and playing in the grass. He feels safe and happy with his mother by his side. But one day, she leaves him alone to find food, and Bambi feels afraid for the first time.

Meeting the Prince

While Bambi is alone, a tall, handsome stag appears. The stag, known as the Prince of the Forest, asks why Bambi is crying. Bambi admires him and decides to be brave like the Prince. Later, Bambi learns from his friends, Gobo and Faline, that the Prince is the biggest and strongest stag in the forest, but he speaks to no one. Bambi longs to see him again.

The Threat of Man

Bambi learns about "Man," a mysterious and feared being. The deer in the meadow grow tense when they sense Man nearby. One winter day, Man arrives with loud "thunder noises" (gunshots). Bambi's mother tells him to run and not look back. Bambi escapes but loses his mother and finds Gobo injured in the snow. Gobo tells him to leave, and Bambi runs, heartbroken.

Bambi's Injury and Recovery

Bambi is shot in the shoulder but keeps running, remembering his mother's words. He finds Faline and other deer, who tell him his mother and Gobo are gone. Weak and sad, Bambi wants to sleep forever, but the Prince appears and urges him to get up. The Prince leads Bambi to a safe place under an old tree and reveals he is Bambi's father. With the Prince's care, Bambi slowly recovers.

A New Beginning

By spring, Bambi is strong again. The Prince tells him he can rejoin his friends. In the meadow, Bambi feels older but happy. Faline greets him joyfully, and Bambi realizes the beauty of life despite his losses. The story ends with Bambi appreciating the forest and his friendships, showing his growth from a scared fawn to a brave young deer.
